Creating gallery- or exhibition-quality inkjet prints isn’t easy and certainly isn’t intuitive. If it were, everyone would be doing it—and doing it well.

Join Eric Joseph of Freestyle Photographic Supplies for an in-depth, hands-on workshop designed to give you the tools and confidence to take full control of your printmaking process. You’ll learn the six essential steps to producing consistently beautiful inkjet prints.

Throughout this workshop, Eric will guide participants through key topics including:

• Choosing the right monitor for print-based editing

• Monitor calibration: what it is, how to do it, and why it matters

• Selecting paper that supports your artistic vision

• Choosing the best printer for your needs

• Understanding and using custom printer/paper profiles

• Evaluating your prints under proper lighting

Who Can Attend?

Darkroomers Weekend Workshops are typically reserved for current members of the Darkroomers Photographic Club. However, this special event is open to all members in good standing of any SCACC (Southern California Association of Camera Clubs) affiliated club. We welcome our fellow photographers from the SCACC community to join us for this educational opportunity.

About Eric Joseph

Eric Joseph is a photographer and Co-President at Freestyle Photographic & Imaging Supplies. With decades of experience and a passion for education, Eric has traveled the U.S. delivering workshops on color management, inkjet papers, and digital fine art printmaking. His teaching emphasizes practical, real-world knowledge that helps photographers achieve consistent, professional-quality output.

Darkroomers members submit their printed photos for critique; accepted photos hang in Darkroomers gallery at the Photographic Arts Building in Balboa Park for 2 months and are eligible for Interclub competition and Darkroomers year end competition.

Tuesday Morning members use both film and/or digital cameras and are interested in general photography techniques and the sharing of our images. We are a non-competitive club and have no judged events.

Members and Guests are encouraged to join a monthly photography field trip in the San Diego area. This outing usually takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Location and times will vary and are announced at the regular club meetings.

Join members of the Darkroomers Photographic Club and San Diego Portrait Club for a collaborative portrait photography workshop focused on using off-camera flash in outdoor environments. This hands-on session is designed to help photographers improve their understanding of lighting on location using a simple, portable one-light setup.

The workshop begins with one hour of classroom-style instruction at the Photographic Arts Building in Balboa Park, followed by two hours of guided shooting with a professional model in the park.

Topics Covered:

• How to balance flash with ambient light for natural-looking results

• Working efficiently with a single light source

• Choosing and positioning modifiers

• Exposure settings and practical shooting tips
